Prentice Moose Head Tavern Burns
The fire was first noticed by Nels Risberg
The Bee – May 11, 1939
The Moose Head Tavern at Prentice, operated by R. J. Miller, was completely destroyed by fire Tuesday night. The fire was first noticed by Nels Risberg around 11:00 o’clock at night and the alarm was turned in by him. The local fire department responded immediately but the fire was already beyond control and it was impossible to save either the building or any of the fixtures.
The Risberg Garage and a private garage behind the tavern were threatened for a time but the damage to these buildings was not serious. The origin of the fire is unknown.
